Weather impact & operational information

Weather conditions with snow, cold temperatures, and wind may affect lifts, slopes, tracks, and transportation across the resort. Keep an eye on current updates to see what is open and any changes to operations. Be aware that cold temperatures combined with wind make it feel colder and have a greater impact than the actual temperature suggests. Make sure to dress warmly, protect your face and hands, and take breaks when needed to stay warm throughout the day.

Why do the lifts close during strong winds?

When the winds are extremely strong, there are risks associated with being on the mountain. Because we prioritize your safety, we choose not to operate certain lifts during these conditions. In the event of a potential shutdown, there is also a significant risk of passengers on chairlifts becoming severely chilled in the wind if it takes time for the lift to restart or if a lift evacuation is required.

The medical clinic at the Ski Stadium is now open:

Pharmacy

There is no pharmacy in the Idre region. The nearest pharmacy can be found in Sälen (110 kilometers away), or Älvdalen (120 kilometers away). Therefore, ensuring you have all the medications you need for your entire stay in Idre before traveling is important.

Fjälltåget, the Mountain Train

Leave the car behind and hop on the Fjälltåget! Travel for free between the slopes and our cabin areas at Idre Fjäll – no Ski pass required. Fjälltåget is a convenient way to get around the mountain without having to load and unload the car. Of course, you can bring your equipment, and dogs are welcome subject to available space.

Fjälltåget runs daily from 8.30 to 18.30. On April 12, it makes its final trip of the season and parks at 15.30.
