Idre Fjäll Race Arena

At Race Arena, you’ll find perfect conditions for both training and competition. Clubs, national teams, and elite athletes gather here in our highly regarded facilities to prepare for the season and upcoming events.

Through our Race Arena concept, we offer a wide range of disciplines: biathlon, cross-country, alpine, ski cross, and moguls. We host and organize competitions year-round, from junior level to world elite. Making Idre Fjäll a natural meeting place for everyone on snow.

Welcome to the cross-country season opening at Idre Fjäll

Welcome to the cross-country season opening at Idre Fjäll From Friday October 17 we open the season with several kilometers of cross-country trails starting from the Ski Stadium. More trails will open gradually and be adjusted according to weather conditions. As the cold sets in, we will produce even more snow during the autumn so you can enjoy great skiing early in the season.

Trail passes can be added to group bookings by contacting Groups & Conferences. Groups and elite skiers are welcome 08.00–12.00. Recreational skiers can easily book their track pass online and ski 06.00–08.00 and 12.00–22.00.

Mogul training

At Idre Fjäll’s Race Arena, mogul skiers find excellent pre-season training conditions. The course offers ideal terrain for both technique and jump practice from the slope Svarten 2, connected from the parking on the north side of the mountain.

Up to two training sessions per day. Each session starts and ends with course preparation, and groups maintain the course themselves. Free skiing areas are available when conditions allow. Pre-season opens October 17

Stay in a mountain cabin, apartment, or hotel. If you rent accommodation through Idre Fjäll, the training fee is included.

Good to know

Alpine

  • Up to two training sessions per day, usually one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
  • Training time is intended for slalom training and is not suitable for giant slalom.
  • Training hours are usually between 07.00–19.00 every day. The lifts are open 06.45–19.15.
  • A maximum of 25 athletes per course and session. Small groups may be combined.
  • Before the training session ends, the course must be cleared and all snow banks removed.
  • Poles, drills and coach assistance are available for rent.

Ski Cross

  • Possibility of two training sessions per day, usually one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
  • For those who want to practice starts, a section of about 100 meters is available.
  • Clubs/athletes are responsible for maintaining the course themselves and have access to the transport alongside.
  • After finishing your training, ski down the strip to the left of the mogul course (not on the course side), skiers left.
  • We also offer the possibility to train on the skicross course as soon as snow conditions allow.
  • Training hours are usually between 09.00–15.00 every day.
  • We reserve the right to combine groups to allow more teams to train.

Moguls

  • Possibility of two training sessions per day, usually one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
  • Training hours are normally between 08.00–18.00 every day.
  • We divide training teams into 2–3 training groups.
  • We reserve the right to combine groups to accommodate as many as possible.
  • Each training session begins and ends with course preparation at the scheduled time.
  • Training groups are responsible for maintaining the mogul course during the pre-season, including the jumps.
  • If snow conditions allow and the load is low, free skiing areas are available.

Cross-country

  • The tracks are open to everyone and shared by elite athletes, training groups and recreational skiers.
  • The cross-country trails are lit from 06.00–22.00 every day.
  • The morning session, 08.00–12.00, is primarily reserved for national teams with scheduled training.
  • Free skiing areas are available when snow conditions are good and the load is lower.
  • On certain weekends, there may be restrictions due to competitions.
  • Please respect your training times and follow the instructions of the Race Arena staff on site.

Biathlon

  • Two training sessions per day, usually one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
  • The first 30 minutes of each session are reserved for zeroing.
  • The morning session, 08.00–12.00, is primarily reserved for national teams with scheduled training.
  • We aim to keep a maximum of three biathletes per lane.
  • We reserve the right to combine groups to ensure everyone gets training time.
  • Teams are responsible for setting up and removing mats after their training session. After training, place rifle stands outside the groomed area.
  • Race Arena inspects the shooting range daily during the pre-season.
  • Free skiing areas are available when snow conditions are good and the load is low.
  • On certain weekends, there may be restrictions due to competitions.
  • Please respect your training times and follow the instructions of the Race Arena staff on site.

November 15-16

Swedish biathlon season premier

Now the pulse of winter comes alive as the arena fills with thrilling excitement and world-class biathlon. Athletes from Sweden and abroad gather to compete in the short distance on Saturday and the sprint on Sunday, where every shot and second can make the difference.

November 22-23

FIS Open Moguls

When the world’s mogul elite gather at Idre Fjäll on 22–23 November 2025, thrilling competitions await at the FIS Open Moguls. The slope will be filled with rhythmic turns, quick transitions and spectacular jumps as athletes challenge both time and technique. Spectators can look forward to two days of action, drama and world-class skiing on steep moguls.

December 12–14

WC Moguls

When the world’s elite meet at the WC Moguls, three intense days of spectacular runs await, where both qualifications and finals will push the limits of what mogul skiing can offer. The slopes will be filled with powerful turns, and the audience will witness stars battling against both terrain and time.

FIS Moguls

A full day of high-speed mogul skiing awaits as athletes gather for FIS Moguls at Idre Fjäll. The course demands both technical skill and endurance, where every turn and jump contributes to the overall impression. For the audience, it’s a chance to see the stars of tomorrow take on the slope at the highest level.

December 17–18

EC Ski Cross

When the European Cup in ski cross takes place at Idre Fjäll, two days of intense competitions await. Four racers in each heat take on a course filled with turns, jumps and challenging sections. With speed, courage and strategy, the races deliver close duels and excitement all the way to the finish line.
