The Race Arena for cross-country skiing and biathlon is well-known and highly regarded, offering optimal training conditions for both skiers and biathletes. With high-quality snow, excellent tracks and modern shooting ranges, the arena provides perfect opportunities for both juniors and elite athletes. It’s a place that delivers the best possible conditions for high-level training and competition.

Snow-sure

Every year, we save large quantities of snow that we use for the pre-season, allowing us to guarantee start dates. Our location in northwestern Dalarna makes Idre Fjäll snow-reliable with excellent conditions for an early and long winter, providing unbeatable training opportunities during our preseason.

To consider

The elite track is groomed for both classic and skate skiing.
The recreational track is groomed for classic skiing.
Both tracks are open to everyone and are used by elite athletes, training groups, and recreational skiers.
Please note that from 08.00 to 12.00, the elite track is exclusively open to elite athletes/national teams.

Cross-country ski training

Race Arena is a well-known and popular cross-country venue with high-quality, snow-sure tracks offering excellent training opportunities for both junior and elite skiers.

The training season starts on 17 October. Trails are open to everyone and lit from 06.00–22.00, with 08.00–12.00 reserved for national team training.

Biathlon training

With excellent training conditions, tracks and shooting ranges, Race Arena attracts biathletes from all over the world. Carefully prepared trails and high-standard facilities make Idre Fjäll an ideal place for training and competitions.

Groups can book up to two training sessions per day, with the first 30 minutes reserved for zeroing. The morning session 08.00–12.00 is reserved for national teams.
