If you have access to a car, driving is a smooth and convenient way to get to Idre Fjäll. Several routes lead here, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your starting point and giving you the flexibility to plan your trip according to your needs.
During the winter months, it is especially important to keep an eye on road conditions and ensure that your car is equipped with good winter tires for a safe and secure journey. Traveling by car also gives you the freedom to explore the beautiful surroundings at your own pace.
If you drive an electric or hybrid vehicle, there are plenty of charging stations available in the area, and several cabins offer private charging options.

If you live in or are visiting the Idre area, you can get here by bus. The Fjällexpressen runs from Sörsjön to Grövelsjön, with a stop at Idre Fjäll.
Take the bus to Idre Fjäll during the winter – a perfect option if you don’t have access to a car or simply want to relax and enjoy the scenery along the way! During the winter season, Masexpressen operates buses from Stockholm, via Mora, to Idre Fjäll and Fjällexpressen operates from Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö.
Several train operators run services from across Sweden to Mora. From there, you can take a connecting bus directly to Idre Fjäll. All options are available on SJ’s website. Keep in mind that timetables are often updated close to the season, with most winter schedules published in October or November.
